Documents from a committee organized in 1947 to establish and maintain a Forest Park in Portland, Oregon. Includes: City Club studies and proposals, 1945-1947; minutes of meetings, 1947-1970 (in box 2); membership lists and correspondence, 1953-1968; correspondence, reports, and documents relating to acquisition of lands for the park, fire protection within the park, and land use, particularly rock quarry business in the park; and printed materials. Also includes materials formerly designated Mss 1292-1, consisting of papers of Fred W. Cleator and including: correspondence and notes regarding the naming of Forest Park; and an original drawing for the Oregon Journal titled "A Forest Park for Portland," August 8, 1947 (drawing in oversize folder).
